The new release on AFU is coming straight out from Stuttgart. “The Trip” is the first strike by the collaboration of Raphael Dincsoy and Robin Hirte. The connection of these guys is very young and fresh, but they felt really fast that they have a quite similar perception of modern techno music. Even the lead track The Trip was the first track they ever produced together. This track was produced during their very first studio session. After that, it was clear that they have to create more becuae it definitely felt right. Raphael Dincsoy is more known as promoter and booker of Stuttgart`s Lehmann Club or as chief editor of the Partysan Magazine. In the past he did also some digital Eps and Remixes on labels like Kaufe Musik, Sickness or Fassade Records. Robin Hirte in contrast is an “old stager” in the techno and producing business. He is running his own vinyl label “Truth Tracks” and “DasOhr”. Currently he has some big artists on his labels like Dj Rush, Tommy DeClerque, Niereich and many more.
With their debut on AFU, Dincsoy & Hirte presenting a three track EP. The Trip as the opener is a dark, rollin` and heavy bass techno track. Combined with the mystical and spooky vocals they create a very hypnotical atmosphere. At least after the break you will see the dance floor peoples hands in the air…  “Knock! Knock” is a bit similar in the mood with a kind of more roughness. Maybe a bit more rave like. A pumpin` and very oppressive bassline is blowing the groove on. “Jogging” on the other hand is the most groovy track. It is nearly tech house but with a totally individual note. Not the typical happiness vibe, but rather a bit angry in the mood. The groove is milling on from the first second directly to the feed and the brian. All three tracks are 100% peak time and dancefloor oriented sound. Definitely a well done debut by Raphael Dincsoy & Robin Hirte.

The classic huge Sägezahn track by Thomas P. Heckmann’s Welt In Scherben project from 98 that was originally released on Force Inc and defined a whole new genre. Now remastered and ready for the new generation.
Including a brand new track on the flip side called Der Verfall (The Decay),
inspired by the newly rediscovered Sägezahn sound at places like Berghain in Berlin !

After investing all his sweat and blood into labelwork, mastering and his fellow artists for many years, Thomas P. Heckmann found the time and inspiration to get back to the studio for new music of his own for 2012. We start with this analogue beast named GLITTER AND TAND that is pure live recording and a bit of editing in the cockpit of the Trope Studio. Wires and leads all over the place and LEDs blinking like mad, that’s how he likes it !
Techno with no boundaries or categories and loads of knobs…

Electric Envoy consist of Sven Dedek and Marco Polo and they relaunched one of their famous projects from the past into todays formats with three fat Techno and Detroit influenced tracks for their first release on AFU Limited !
sven started producing in 1992 with the commodore amiga and did a lot of tracks for games for this computer. .. in 1995 sven met alex bau (his toneman partner) with whom he collaborated to release an ep on chris liebing’s ‘touchtone’ label that would be out in 1996 and be the beginning of a set of releases on renowned labels as touchtone, fine audio, shokoy, dave angel’s rotation, pascal feos’s pv-records and chris liebing’s clau, not to mention ascend recordings of course. .. as a live performing artist, sven became quite talented and daring, so that his live acts have become an essential part of his musical existence. his performance at the world famous “omen” in 1998 was a milestone in sven’s career: “playing there, means you are part of it!” “we spend more and more time in the studio together and we finally had the wish to establish our own label while releasing for other labels. ‘toneman’ has enabled them to form their musical identity, and it is also a quality trademark in the techno scene. .. sven..s main attitude is probably perfectionism. there is no limit when it comes to improvement of sound or liveappearences. although he learned to evaluate exactly, if the track maybe gets to complicated for the floor, he never stops trying to make his productions interesting and changing… as mentioned, sven has released eps for fine audio, parasound, energy industries, rotation (dave angel’s), toneman (his own), clr (chris liebing..s), pv-records (pascal feos), predicaments (justin berkovi..s) and ascend recordings as well as for many more labels. for details take a look at the discography at his website http://www.myspace.com/svendedek!

One of Techno’s most famous and greatest tracks is back with a vengeance !
Christopher Just was and is a man of many faces, writer (Brennstoff, Porno), very successful remixer (Divine, Drax, Pulp, Chicks On Speed,…), member of the infamous Ilsa Gold project (with a great performance this year at the Mayday !), has released uncounted records on Cheap, Giant Wheel, Force Inc. and is now working for theatre and as producer and musician.
His track Disco Dancer was originally released as a one-sided 12inch on Hell’s Gigolo Records and was a huge success with a license to the XL label in the UK and remixes by none smaller than Fat Boy Slim, Dave Clarke, Hell aso. ! Many new remixes followed, but somehow all of them forgot to include the great original !
Now it’s back in it original form with a fine remaster by TPH and two great new contemporary remixes by our AFU guys Harry Axt and Felix Bernhardt !
This all is packed onto a nice limited picture disc Vinyl and already on the decks of a few collaborateurs !

The two long time mates Thomas P. Heckmann and Gez Varley aka G-Man finally release their studio sessions they recorded over a short period of time in 2011.
Based mainly on live production and using funny and long obsolete instruments and samplers, they managed to throw their long history in music together for these fun sessions. The EP starts with the title track DRIVE INN, very minimal in the production and reduced to the main ingredients a great track needs and definitely to be experienced in a nice club with decent PA. This one also gets a very fine treatment by the Detroit duo AUX 88 as a Mad Scientist remix !
The flipside starts with the Chicago influenced BACKPACK tune, very Techno-House in it’s appearance, but not to be mixed up with Tech-House ! Nice swirly and pushing FMed basslines carry this tune into the subconscious.
And we finish off this package with the trippy and dubby SIDEWINDER, a great builder with fancy and psychedelic effects and deepness…

Daniel Steinberg aka Harry Axt has always shied away from press attention, instead preferring to craft his music shrouded from ego and hype. His productions are in favour with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Claude Vonstroke and Richie Hawtin and he is very much an unsung hero of the scene.
As Berlin’s underground throbbed with minimal beats and stripped down house, Steinberg seemed to reach into the concreted shadows and caverns and emerge with something shimmering with real heart and feeling. Dicing Brazilian samples with killer beats and laying on the glitch to heavy effect
A veritable chameleon of Berlin’s musical landscape since he first started producing his colourful vision of house and techno back in 1993, a time when Berlin’s sound was stripped back and very distinctive, Steinberg was already thriving outside this box, experimenting with exotic world samples and having fun fusing elements together to make a cohesive whole that was always greater than the sum of its parts.
And again he leaves no doubt that he can rock the house with his distinctive style whatsorever ! The title is to be taken as an ironic statement as it is hard to categorise his output…and then again, who needs categories anyways!

And we still release in these low Summer times with our next French artist Nicolas Cuer !
He delivers three very nice and bright Techno tracks with light Summer melodies and to make you smile ? Three tracks inspired by the infamous Club Villa Rouge in the south of France.
He already has come a long interesting way in his young life and has released on labels like Umek’s 1605, Space Records, Impulsif Records, played hundreds of gigs and festivals and has his own residency on the underground Radio Electro Sound.

Hot on the Heels of such illustrious French producers as Kiko, Popof, Electric Rescue aso. follows our new member to the AFU family Laurent Paranthoen with his Commuter project !  With his former releases on Skryptöm, Goog and Elektrofon he is not totally new to the scene and will surely have a big impact with his first EP for AFU !!!
Four top produced and fresh tracks that are already rockin’ out with a very few Vinyl and limited testpressings ! So AFU once again is very happy to sign another great French artist with Commuter !!!

Laurent Paranthoën aka Commuter discovered music thanks to Kraftwerk’s album Radio Activity, found in his parent’s record collection …and quickly fell in love with acid house, new beat and early techno ….
At a young age he became interested in musical production, synthesizers, and musical software……So, he began his journey into music by trying to produce rap music…
But his synthpop, EBM, and 80’s influences (he’s a huge Depeche Mode fan ) naturally pushed him back to techno and electro culture,..
After refining his production skills and sound, in 1998 he started playing Techno live acts in several techno parties across his homeland, Brittany.
In the early 00′s, he moved to PARIS, met Elektrofon Label’s crew, and in 2007 released his first 12 inch with them, «Electrostate of Mind» an EBM/Techno collaboration with LAAG for vocals. The Hacker made an excellent remix of it.
His 3rd EP with Elektrofon, «Black Friday» was released in 2009 and remixed by Julian Jeweil. He then decided to sent a demo to Electric Rescue, and the “Template EP” found its way to the famous french techno label Skryptöm in early 2010. This was followed by several EPs and remixes on various labels like Goog Records, Space Factory, LCMTC, Junky Robot, Verboten, …
Since then, it appears that Commuter has a growing popularity on the french techno scene, now playing in some of the best parties and clubs in France, such as PLAY nights, Astropolis Festival, Bataclan, Glazart, Batofar, Lieu Unique, Panoramas Festival and the legendary Rex club…
