“Flaming Passing” is a great follow up from HARTMUT KISS’ latest Definition Records release “Water Games”. This time he invited again great Artists to remix his track. JOHANNES HEIL (Cocoon, Kanzleramt, Starkstrom) creates a real after hour bomb which will hit the case of all cocoon heads. GUY J (Bedrock Records) stays not behind the track and delivers a melodic hymn which rounds the EP up. Overall a very strong EP from Hartmut Kiss which makes us very exciting for his new upcoming Album.

For the label’s 14th release, Memento welcomes the collaboration of Italy’s finest house enthusiasts Pastaboys, who bring their love of dance music’s black roots and afro-american soul sounds, combined with an exquisite european-influenced sense of rhythm and melodies. “Tresca” evolves around a sweet italo-disco bass that sends the listener back to the 70s: a soundtrack to a sleazy underground movie, with nightmare-ish synth chords in the background.

Strong claps and percussion build the tension up to a Donna Summer-esque break, leading the track to an anthemic climax ready to shake the asses of all the party people out there.

Argy’s remix adds loopy vocal samples while making the bass more muscular and playing with retro-sounding big-room house synths, perfectly matching the spirit of the original cut but at the same time taking it to the next level. A specta cular two-tracker, which stands out as a devoted tribute to the legacy that shaped the history of house and disco music, from turning inspiration into a brilliant and contemporary piece of work.

Kumia is the title of the 13th release from International Sound Laboratory and is written and produced by ISL artist Tuomas Salmela aka Phonogenic. “Kumia” connects the sound of his previous release, “Artifacts” with the continuation of the latest developments from our Finnish collaboration laboratory in Tampere, Finland. This time we also sent a sample to specialist researcher Samuli Kemppi, who also is involved with heavy duty works on labels such as Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver.

This is blueform, a sublabel of melted recordings, with it’s first release – made by Random Audio. In order to assort different variations of techno blueform was founded as the first official sublabel of melted recordings, although small labels aside of melted were started so far. Blueform stands for real classic detroit techno as we know and love it for many years. Very famous protagonists, especially from the US formed this spacy, retro-futuristic and/or chordish sound – a special state of mind. Random Audio reflects these characteristics with his tracks of the hologram EP. He is an important part of the futuredraht community, he has produced many tracks of various styles – mostly (but not only) techno – and even now he had just his second track on melted recordings under another alias, this is his first own (vinyl | digitally worldwide distributed) release. The first track “Fourier Transmatica” brings us back with a pulsating sound into the late nineties of detroit techno. The chords, melodies and pads in “Downtown” fit exactly to the sound of “the motor city”. “The Model” goes right into the science fiction side of techno using creaky blips and old string sounds and finally “The Mask” seems to build itself up with bubbling tones again and again. Watch out for the next big release of Random Audio very soon!

Electric Envoy consist of Sven Dedek and Marco Polo and they relaunched one of their famous projects from the past into todays formats with three fat Techno and Detroit influenced tracks for their first release on AFU Limited !
sven started producing in 1992 with the commodore amiga and did a lot of tracks for games for this computer. .. in 1995 sven met alex bau (his toneman partner) with whom he collaborated to release an ep on chris liebing’s ‘touchtone’ label that would be out in 1996 and be the beginning of a set of releases on renowned labels as touchtone, fine audio, shokoy, dave angel’s rotation, pascal feos’s pv-records and chris liebing’s clau, not to mention ascend recordings of course. .. as a live performing artist, sven became quite talented and daring, so that his live acts have become an essential part of his musical existence. his performance at the world famous “omen” in 1998 was a milestone in sven’s career: “playing there, means you are part of it!” “we spend more and more time in the studio together and we finally had the wish to establish our own label while releasing for other labels. ‘toneman’ has enabled them to form their musical identity, and it is also a quality trademark in the techno scene. .. sven..s main attitude is probably perfectionism. there is no limit when it comes to improvement of sound or liveappearences. although he learned to evaluate exactly, if the track maybe gets to complicated for the floor, he never stops trying to make his productions interesting and changing… as mentioned, sven has released eps for fine audio, parasound, energy industries, rotation (dave angel’s), toneman (his own), clr (chris liebing..s), pv-records (pascal feos), predicaments (justin berkovi..s) and ascend recordings as well as for many more labels. for details take a look at the discography at his website http://www.myspace.com/svendedek!

Many friends of “Echtzeit” appreciated his “cl versions 1 – 4″ of the sixth
melted recordings release, so some of them did their own interpretations of
one of the themes. These 10 tracks come on two releases: already released
“part 1″ and this new “part 2″: again melted label owner and manager “ka.pe
with an endless light sound together with clear and straight drums. Madera’s
redub I is deep and dub techno with a little kind of funk. “meridian six”, an
unknown project with a light, hard but also melodic and rhythmic electro
sound. And finally “insect o.” of “etui records” performes a long upbuilding
melodic deep techno hymn.

The two long time mates Thomas P. Heckmann and Gez Varley aka G-Man finally release their studio sessions they recorded over a short period of time in 2011.
Based mainly on live production and using funny and long obsolete instruments and samplers, they managed to throw their long history in music together for these fun sessions. The EP starts with the title track DRIVE INN, very minimal in the production and reduced to the main ingredients a great track needs and definitely to be experienced in a nice club with decent PA. This one also gets a very fine treatment by the Detroit duo AUX 88 as a Mad Scientist remix !
The flipside starts with the Chicago influenced BACKPACK tune, very Techno-House in it’s appearance, but not to be mixed up with Tech-House ! Nice swirly and pushing FMed basslines carry this tune into the subconscious.
And we finish off this package with the trippy and dubby SIDEWINDER, a great builder with fancy and psychedelic effects and deepness…

The original track was already quite something in itself. Secret Cinema‘s reinterpretation of SLS‘ “Broken Squares” takes us well and truly down the funky techno road, deftly retaining the glitchy flavour of the original, whilst adding a touch of that old school feeling and successfully delivering a peaktime bomb thats equally at home in either a techno or a tech-house set !  Witness some serious progression, a wickedly wobbling bass and some deliciously broken beats, making this huge track fun and accessible for dancers and DJ’s alike.
Leave your expectations at the door. Mikael Nordgren, AKA Tiger Stripes, well known in techno’s ahead of the curve circles for his massive slamming tunes like ”Eden” or for his tightly wrapped tech-house beats, surprises us, adeptly flirting with dub techno in his awesome reworking of SLS’ “Four To The Floor”. This is a very heavy minimal track, reminiscent more than anything else, of “deep-down-into-dub” artists like Quantec or Marco Furstenberg.  The deeper of the four versions of “Four To The Floor” as released on Ground Factory. It retains the musical atmosphere of the original material while turning it into one of those intense and evocative slow heavy techno moments, with a relaxed mood and a subtle progression.
