The ‘Taste the Difference EP’ from the excellent Slidebar Records dishes up something unique where modern Techno is concerned. Axel Sohns the label founder expressed how he wants to mix up the old and new styles of Techno and give people back a sound that quite simply makes you not only want to dance and leaves you thinking ‘how the fuck did they make that sound’

Dibu-Z – Pyroclastic Flow
The E.P. serves up the perfect starter. Dibu-Z’s pulsing electro bass breaks into a chunky concoction of electronic murmurings and gets the EP off to a perfect start. There is never a dull moment every sound is well thought out and unique. This tune alone is worth the money for this EP. It will fill a dance floor in seconds and if it doesn’t your playing at the wrong party.

TSR – Matlagningsmusik
Main course. Yet again TSR bring something deliciously funky to the table. The Deep groove is controlled until the lead synth decides to, quite simply, get up and leave and then all manner of madness prevails. At times this track leaves you thinking ‘that’s genius’ but then what else did you expect from TSR.

Thomas Schneider – Schwarze Flut
This is dark and deep like a vintage port. The bass pulses menacingly throughout the track whilst the vocals twist and wind their way through the darkness. Turn the lights down or off and let the walls shake.

Oliver Rosemann – Murky Beer Can
For desert Oliver goes full fat with this sugar coated groove that mixes old and new styles beautifully. The groove struggles to break free but is kept in check whilst the beat pounds on but every now again the lead comes out to play. This is a perfect example of how Techno should sound.

Scott Robinson – Explain
Scott serves the bitter and black ‘wake-me-up. The chopped up bass line propels the listener through a maze of industrial and mechanical bangs and clangs; if robots could party they would probably bang this track on.

To sum up, if you are sick of ‘Template Techno’ then this EP is for you as it breaks the formulaic mould of so much modern electronic music. You can certainly Taste the difference after this Techno Feast… simply perfect to keep you up on those hot summer nights.

The German based label Kitty Corner Records turns back the wheel and starts a new series of fresh experimental techno music. The opening track “Hachzem” from Bristol’s Kanji Kinetic comes with storming mutant basslines and rave stabs collide over a thumping techno beat. For “Battle Creek Brawl” RRRitalin and Cynthia Stern take it back to ’92 with pitched up rap vocals over a prodigy style breakbeat hardcore track. Spaceface’s “Hands of a Lunatik” is frenetic and crazy wonky techno, while Luke’s Anger rounds off the EP with the robotic 909 warehouse beats of “Throwing Switches”.

The title ‘The Beast’ hits the nail exactly on the head. With the Original Mix ‘Sobar & Gorziza’ has proven once again that they are Techno Junkies. Since a few years their pumping beats are to find in cases of many famous DJs. The release is crowned by a remix of the Austrian guy ‘Niereich’ (Abstract Booking). He was selected on pos.4 as newcomer of the year 2011 by a voting of the German magazine ‘Partysan’ and he is still on the fast lane and belongs to the most popular DJs of the techno scene by this time. On the B-side are two more beasts remixed by ‘Andrea Frisina’ and ‘Dani Sbert’. Both could to achieve some chart successes on Beatport and other download stores and they are touring Europe for some gigs. All in one a must-have vinyl for your case!

Ihre pumpenden Beats findet man seit einigen Jahren schon in vielen Plattenkoffern namhafter DJs.Gekrönt wird das Release mit einem dicken und wuchtigen Remix von dem aus Graz stammenden österreichischen DJ „Niereich“ (Abstract Booking), der weiterhin auf der Überholspur ist und spätestens seit dem Voting des PARTYSAN.net Poll & Award, wo er als Newcomer des Jahres 2011 auf Platz 4 gewählt wurde, aktuell zu den gefragtesten Personen der Techno Szene gehört.Auf der B-Seite befinden sich zwei weitere Biester. Zum einen von „Andrea Frisina“, der schon einige Charterfolge auf der digitalen Plattform Beatport verzeichnen konnte und inzwischen Weltweit in Clubs unterwegs ist. Physical Records is happy to present their 6th vinyl release: Physical Driver Part 1 & 2 By explosive french duo Mik Izif & Midwooder. Two original tracks filled of heavy rhythms and dark melodies, in the mood of their latest output Physical Records 05.
Production of those tracks started in Canada during Mik Izif tour and were finallised by Midwooder @ his studio in Nîmes so the EP well fit to be so called: Trip France To Canada EP.
